Initiative for Peace Conference 2012 participants and facilitators at Li Po Chun United World College of Hong Kong


IFP is a group of students from Li Po Chun United World College of Hong Kong whose fundamental belief is that conflicts are inevitable but they can be managed before escalating into more serious forms. 

Created in 2001 at UWCSEA, inspired IFP at LPC to form a similar group in 2006. The IFP group at LPC works in three different scopes, organizing conflict management activities internally within the school, day camps for HK schools and annual conferences around the world most lately in the Philippines. Our main is to educate and train young adults to identify the root causes of conflicts and manage conflicts to improve, maintain and promote peace in different communities.

The Philippine Postal Corporation launched stamp in honor of Blessed Pedro Calungsod last October 21 held at the historic EDSA Shrine. 

Blessed Pedro Calungsod-the second Filipino Saint.

Blessed Pedro Calungsod was a 17-year old Roman Catholic Filipino martyr who was killed while doing missionary work in the Marianas Island in Guam in 1672. He was beatified on March 5, 2000, by Pope John Paul II.
The single stamp design illustrates Blessed Pedro holding a Palm leaf on his left hand and his right hand at the chest signifying his deep Roman Catholic faith. On the right side is the missionary route to the Marianas Island.
The design also features a stamp on a stamp first issued on April 2, 2002. The PHLPost is issuing limited edition of 50,000 stamps with the denomination of Php 9.00 which will be available starting October 22, 2012 up to October 20, 2013 at selected post offices nationwide.
