“Love of God and Love of Neighbor, A Challenge for Mindanao,”- the theme for this year's Mindanao Week of Peace (MWOP) which will be celebrated by tri people in Mindanao on November 29 to December 5, 2012.

The Institute for Peace and Development in Mindanao of Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology is organizing various activities including Peace Painting with the theme "Mindanao Peace of Art" and "Mindanao: Lights.Camera.Peace" Peace Film Festival. High schools and colleges within the city participated and undergone a series of workshop on Mindanao History and the Peace process, the Concept of Do No Harm, Script writing, Editing and Directing last November 10-11, 2012.

Meanwhile, MSU-IIT Youth Chain of Peace (MYCoP), volunteer-student organization under IPDM is organizing a peace building workshop for the students of Iligan on the GPH MILF Peace process.This will serve as a venue to have a better understanding the concept of peace, learning conflict management, resolution skills.

Ecosystems Work for Essential Benefits Inc. (EcoWEB) is set to organize a photo exhibition by community photographers on the Bayug Ancestral Domain, its community and the challenges around extractive industries dubbed as "Hulga sa yutang kabilin-The land that is left to us on December 03, 2012. The photo exhibition will run until December 6.

PeaceTech Inc. will be having a Mass VideoConference (MVC) between Iligan City and Manila on December 5 which will be participated by 6,000 youths. MVCs are conducted to reinforce lessons learned from classroom video conference.

IPDM and EcoWEB activites are funded by GIZ and the Civil Peace Service of Germany while PeaceTech activites are being funded by AusAid.
